min read

Meet Riza Ingalls, our newest Software Engineer here at Flo Recruit! He works every day building out new features and improving our university product experience to be the best it can be. We're so excited to have him on the engineering team — keep going to learn more about Riza in our Q&A spotlight.

Q: Describe a little bit about yourself

I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and moved down to Austin, Texas earlier this year. I came to be a part of, contribute to, and develop some of the local communities. I value hard work and diligence balanced with humor and lightheartedness. I love learning new things and challenging myself in ways that strengthen my character.

Q: What is your past experience? (i.e places you used to work, what type of work you did, education, etc)

I studied Biomedical Engineering in university and a couple of years after graduation started learning web development in my own time. I got my start with a software startup, Mile Two. The quality project organization and clean code practices laid a solid foundation for me as a growing developer.

Q: What made you choose Flo Recruit?

The team at Flo Recruit was young and friendly. I had a good feeling that we’d all work well together.

Q: What’s the most rewarding part of working on the engineering team?

Being on the engineering team is rewarding because you are continuously learning and solving problems that provide real world solutions.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I love to be active and outdoors whether that’s running, weight lifting, rock climbing, cycling, snowboarding, or hiking, I love it. I also find being of service to others an immensely rewarding part of life.

Q: What would you tell a candidate who is considering whether Flo Recruit will be a good place for them to grow their career?

If they can run with a growing team where not all of the decisions have been made, being a thought leader is valued in helping the organization develop in a healthy and sustainable way then Flo Recruit may be for you.
